Hall Lake, Sikachu Lake & Clam Bridge Wildfire Emergency Update
HALL LAKE, LLRIB. — Here are the latest updates on the ongoing wildfire emergency, community support, and evacuation coordination:
Key Updates from the May 30 Meeting:

· The Pisew wildfire is now estimated at 61,205 hectares and is being closely monitored near Hall Lake, Sanderson Lake, and Sikachu.
· Fire behavior remains aggressive due to dry conditions, wind, and low humidity (currently 15%).
· Temperatures are forecast to reach 32°C with a risk of thunderstorms and dry lightning. Significant rainfall over 1–2 weeks is needed to stabilize conditions.

· Highway 102 opened this morning to allow traffic through but will be closed again at noon due to increasing fire risk and wind shifts.
· Highway 165 remains open with intermittent closures. There has been power loss in areas due to trees falling on lines.

· Crews are working hard to protect Brabant and Hall Lake, with additional aircraft and Alberta fire teams now supporting local response efforts.
· A joint state of emergency has been declared by LLRIB, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, and Montreal Lake Cree Nation, and national attention is growing.
· Planned ignition operations and resource coordination are ongoing.

· Sikachu community members are being moved to Hall Lake due to limited road access and fire threat. Clam Bridge is also being checked.
· Sikachu residents should prepare for potential evacuation.

· PM2.5 averages over 72 hours:
· Sucker River, Grandmothers Bay, Stanley Mission: Moderate (184)
· Hall Lake, La Ronge: High (180)
· Forecast shows possible short-term relief with high smoke returning on May 31.
· Health guidance links will be shared. No PSAs issued yet.

· Emergency trailers have arrived from PAGC and La Ronge.
· Red Cross continues to support 384 Hall Lake evacuees in Saskatoon and Regina.
