LLRIB-EOC Emergency Update
LLRIB. — An ordered evacuation is now in effect for the Town of La Ronge, Village of Air Ronge, and Lac La Ronge Indian Reserve on Monday, June 2nd due to fast-moving wildfire activity. Only emergency, essential personnel will be permitted to travel north toward the region at this time. Here are the latest updates and urgent messages:
Key Updates from the June 3rd Meeting:

Crews continue their efforts to contain the Pisew fire and surrounding wildfires. The fire remains active due to dry conditions, high temperatures, and persistent winds. As of today:
· Fire Proximity: Fires remain dangerously close to Hall Lake, La Ronge, and Sucker River. Spot fires have been observed up to 4 km ahead of the main fire front.
· Fire Losses (Preliminary Reports):
o Hall Lake: 5 structures (pending confirmation)
o Sucker River: 13 structures
o Eagle Point: 3 structures
o Waden Bay: 2 structures
· Fire Resources Deployed:
o 20 firefighters currently working in Hall Lake and surrounding areas
o BC wildfire crews have resumed operations in Hall Lake as of 7:00 AM today
o Multiple crews and support units remain on standby for urgent deployment

Today’s wind conditions are extremely challenging:
· Wind gusts of up to 65–70 km/h expected throughout the day (June 3)
· Previous gusts reached up to 95 km/h
· Wind direction is forecast to shift to southeast by Thursday, June 5, with slightly lower speeds of 10–15 km/h
· No significant rainfall is forecast; dry and hazardous conditions are expected to persist
These weather conditions significantly elevate the risk of fire spread and make suppression efforts more difficult.

Closures due to fire risk include:
· Highway 102, 106, 165 East, 165 West, and Molanosa Road
· Highways 2 and 165 West are prioritized to remain open for essential traffic
· Highway updates will be shared through the Highway Hotline: https://hotline.gov.sk.ca/

· Power outages continue in Stanley Mission, Grandmother’s Bay, Southend, and Sucker River.
· SaskPower and SaskTel are working to restore services; SaskTel’s fiber optic repair is underway.
· Some areas lack backup generators and communication equipment.
· Efforts are underway to deliver P-25 radios to Grandmother’s Bay.

· SaskTel fiber optic repair ongoing.
· Emergency communications being coordinated through available radios and interim systems.

· Coordination with the leadership and health officials is underway to deploy paramedics and physicians.
· STARS helicopter support is active, but long-term reliance is not sustainable.

• 5,400 evacuees registered as of this morning
• Volunteers and physicians are encouraged to connect with the Red Cross and local leaders
• Physical and online registration is available. Those registered online do not need to re-register in person
