Lac La Ronge Indian Band Internal Council Donates $30,000 to Kikinahk Friendship Center

On the morning of Tuesday January 12 Chief Tammy Cook-Searson presented a cheque on behalf of La Ronge Internal Council to Ron Woytowich, Director of Kikinahk Friendship Center and Danielle Debruyne, president of Kikinahk Friendship Center.

The cheque was in the amount of $30,000 and is intended to assist the Scattered Sites project as well as the homeless shelter in purchasing meals and to hire more staff so the center can extend its hours.

“Scattered Sites provides an essential service for the most vulnerable individuals from our communities by providing meals and a warm place to gather. We are very pleased that this service is available for our Band members. We’re very happy to be able to provide some support to these initiatives, we need to continue to work together to help those who need the support.”
The donated funds are expected to last until the end of March 2021.
