Purpose of Survey

Prince Albert National Park is engaging internal and external expertise through the Kingsmere Lake Trout Advisory Board to find sustainable, long-term solutions to this issue.

The Kingsmere Lake Trout Sub-Committee was created to target the Indigenous Activities Target for the Kingsmere Lake Trout Advisory Board. The Sub-Committee consists solely of representatives of Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, and Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

The lake trout population in Kingsmere Lake has changed significantly. Data collected through this survey will be used to provide advice, recommendations, experience, and knowledge that aids in the creation of a Kingsmere Lake Trout Management Plan.

Under the principles of OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession), the foreground information is defined as unrestricted and asserts that Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, and Montreal Lake Cree Nation maintain control over the collection processes, the findings, and how the information may be used.
