The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications to fill the following Full-Time position based out of the Mikisiw Awasis Early Learning Centre in La Ronge, SK:

VAN DRIVER

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

• Drive van to transport passengers to and from the program within the community
• Test vehicle before and after shift to ensure that lights, brakes, windshield wipers, and tire pressure, fuel and fluid levels are in proper working condition
• Ensure car seats and booster seats are installed and used correctly
• Keep the van/vehicle clean at all times, pickup loose items/ garbage after each trip
• Operate company equipment needed to communicate such as radio, cell phone or computer in order to receive information, updates and passenger locations
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
• Create and follow a schedule for pick-ups and drop offs
• Record all passenger pick-ups, drop offs in the vehicle log and daily mileage
• Provide transportation services in a safe, friendly, and courteous manner at all times
• Complete accident reports when necessary
• Maintain a current transportation schedule, vehicle log and updated client transportation list

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Must have a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
• Experience driving and maintaining a transit van is an asset
• First Aid/CPR Certification shall be preferred
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory a Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver’s Abstract
