The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is now accepting applications for the following full-time Term position ending September
30, 2027. This position will be based out of Little Red River, SK.
Pre-Employment (PES) Case Worker/Welfare Worker
Workload will be split: 60% Pre-Employment Services and 40% LRR Social Development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The PES Case Worker will be responsible for a comprehensive case management process through the provision of income
assistance services for 18-64-year-old clients in the Little Red River community. The PES Case Worker/Welfare Worker will
be responsible for a caseload of First Nations clients currently on LLRIB Income Assistance and will work to identify clients’
individual employment readiness and barriers to employment and develop Action Plans towards employability.
• Assessing client employability;
• Assessing client needs and barriers to employment;
• Assessing steps to reduce or remove client employment barriers;
• Ability to develop a client ‘Action Plan’ that assists a client to become employed;
• Coordinate case management supports and services;
• Review the IA application and documentation for the client to ensure accuracy.
• Referral of clients to programs and services for meeting training, employment supports or mental/addiction and
job transition supports.
Requirements:
• Minimum Diploma in Social Sciences;
• Minimum one year experience in counselling First Nations members;
• Effective communication, interpersonal skills and computer skills;
• Possess a valid driver’s license, must have own vehicle;
• Ability to travel to the communities.
• The ability to speak Cree and knowledge of the Woodland Cree culture is an asset.
