Missing Person’s Liaison Worker

We are looking for a reliable, proactive dedicated person to assist the MMIWG (Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls) program. This position is responsible for the provision of support, referral, translation, cultural and education services in the field of IRS / MMIWG and requires living a healthy lifestyle and being familiar with Woodland Cree Culture and traditions. About the position: Providing provision support, referrals, translation and cultural education services in the field of MMIWG; Build networks and relationships with multiple groups at the national, regional and community levels with promoting awareness of the IRS Resolution Health Supports Program and Issues; Assist communities in capacity building to address impacts of Indian Residential Schools; Assist in translation process (Cree/English); Works closely with other healthcare teams in organizing events.

Qualifications: Certificate in Social Work or Diploma in Justice Studies or Human Studies field; Strong verbal, written communication and public relations skills; Experience working with First Nations communities, including leadership; Ability to work in a dynamic environment, as part of a team and with minimal directions; Ability to speak/understand Cree, and knowledge of Woodland Cree Culture is an asset; Must have a valid driver’s license and able to travel to LLRIB outlying communities.
