The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year, to fill the following Full-time position based out of Sally Ross School, Hall Lake, SK:
Learning Support Teacher
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with school staff, parents/guardians, learning support coordinator and consultants.
- Provide direct services and resource support to designated students, as needed.
- Facilitate the referral process for those students requiring outside professional services
- Participate in operation of the school extracurricular program.
The suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A Teacher Certification or ability to obtain;
- Degree or Diploma in Special Education or related experience would be an asset;
- Experience working with Educational staff in a team environment;
- Use motivational skills and strategies to encourage students to learn and keep them engaged;
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills to instruct and assess students work;
- Have computer skills and can work with multiple types of computers, technology and software programs (power point, google classroom, Microsoft teams);
- Strong time management skills to balance online classroom environment;
- On-line teaching experience an asset;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening;
