The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2024 academic year, to fill the following full-time term position based out of the Youth Haven in La Ronge, SK:
Land Based Cultural Assistant
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Ability to prepare cultural activities for land-based students;
- Assist in cultural events and preparing traditional foods;
- Assist in providing cultural teachings;
- Engage with students and provide support in cultural activities;
- Ensure students are supervised at all times;
- Assist in arranging transportation for students as needed;
- Respond to general enquiries of the Cultural Camp’s purpose, processes and procedures and/or other information being requested;
- Assist in gathering materials, tools and accessories for Culture Camp;
- Organize and participate in Cultural Activities;
- Provide school & student support to ensure student safety at all times;
The suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Must be prepared to work with children with various skills and abilities;
- Must ensure student safety;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to lift heavy objects;
- Prefer to have or willing to obtain First Aid Certificate
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
