Human Resources Coordinator

For the Community of La Ronge

 Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is now inviting applications for 1 (One) Permanent Full Time, Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources Coordinator holds primary responsibility for the identification, development, implementation and coordination of human resource programs and services across LLRIBHS. This work is conducted in a manner that supports strategic objectives and direction as outlined by LLRIBHS.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing the day-to-day Human Resources functions in the areas of personnel management, practices and procedures on matters of staffing, classification, wage and salary administration, staff relations, employee benefits, staff training and development, human resources planning, and grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Providing employee relations leadership by ensuring compliance to department policies and practices and Canadian laws and regulations.
  • Facilitating the recruitment, appointment and orientation for new staff.
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining multi-level database systems that provide tracking of basic human resources information.
  • Providing information and counsel to staff, supervisors, coordinators, and managers regarding LLRIBHS compensation and employee benefits systems.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce or related field;
  • 3 years’ relevant experience in Human Resources;
  • A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered;
  • CPHR designation is considered a definite asset;
  • Solid knowledge of employment standards/labour relations legislation
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions such as recruitment, benefits, compensation, training and health and safety.
  • Strong, conflict management, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and project management skills.
  • Experience working with LLRIB communities is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Woodland Cree Language, Culture and Traditions an asset;
  • Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and willing to travel;
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening and driver’s abstract required;
