The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is accepting applications for the following Full-Time position, based out of La Ronge:
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Purpose of Position
Digital communications officer will work in website development, updating, advertising, public relations, video production and computer animation. Due to the varying nature of this job, digital communications officers often combine skills from several disciplines including journalism, business, computer science and design.
Duties include (but not limited to):
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices;
• Create website layout/user interface by using standard HRML/CSS practices;
• Develop website maps, application models, image templates, or page templates that meet goals, user needs and LLRIB Standards;
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases;
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs;
• Create and maintain software documentation;
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our LLRIB website;
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities;
• Drive to various communities to gather content for LLRIB website;
• Fixes bugs in LLRIB Website;
• Social Media for community engagement and long-term content promotion;
• Enhancing the internal and external communication strategies of LLRIB;
• Perform other duties as required or assigned by Immediate Supervisor;
Job Requirements
• Diploma in Communications, or other related field combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital communications;
• Diploma in website development;
• Basic knowledge in search engine optimism;
• Proven working experience in web programming;
• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, object orientated programming, and web application development;
• Interest in the latest developments in web, news, and social media, as well as passion for the LLRIB’s mandate and the issues that are important to our members;
• Flexibility and ability to multi-task with continually changing timelines and priorities;
• Must have Valid Driver’s License;
• Must obtain Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver’s Abstract upon hire;
