The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year, to fill the following Full-Time Term position based out of La Ronge, SK:
BOARDING HOME PARENT
Under the direction of the K-12 Co-ordinator, the Boarding Home parent is responsible for ongoing personal daily operation of Boarding Home. Students placed in boarding home are under the authority of the boarding home policy
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Function as an advocate for high school students;
- Providing meals according to house schedules;
- Be able to work shift work;
- Be willing to travel to scheduled appointments;
- Advise students on hygiene;
- Ensure students attend school regularly.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Previous experience in Group Home setting preferable;
- Honest, caring and patient;
- Act as a role model in healthy lifestyles;
- Good oral communication skills;
- Be able to plan menus and cook healthy meals;
- Good written skills and ability to prepare monthly reports;
- Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certificate or be willing to obtain one in a timely fashion;
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required;
- Be willing to work assigned flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) as required;
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
