The Canadian Red Cross has announced that funding is available to support households impacted by the Saskatchewan wildfires. This assistance is made possible through the $15 million committed by the Government of Saskatchewan in June 2025.
This financial support applies to all Lac La Ronge Indian Band members — both those living on-reserve and off-reserve in Saskatchewan — who were evacuated from their primary residence starting in late May 2025 due to wildfires, and who are registered with the Canadian Red Cross.
🔺 How Assistance Will Be Distributed
- LLRIB will manage and distribute payments to members living on-reserve.
- The Canadian Red Cross will distribute payments directly to off-reserve members.
- Payments are not being issued yet — distribution is expected to begin in approximately two weeks.
Please do not call the Red Cross or the Band Office about payment timing.
Updates will be shared when the distribution process is ready to begin.
✅ Who Will Receive the Funding?
To be eligible, households must:
- Be members of LLRIB (on- or off-reserve) and be a resident of Saskatchewan
- Have been evacuated from their primary residence due to wildfire starting in late May 2025
- Be registered with the Canadian Red Cross
💵 Financial Assistance Summary
