Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Social Development Department is now inviting applications for the following Permanent Full-Time position based out of La Ronge, SK:
WELFARE INTAKE WORKER
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Responsible for the intake of social assistance clients and issuing of cheques and purchase orders to the band membership;
- Conduct interviews, home visits, filing, maintaining proper records;
- Interpret Social Development Policy and regulations to clients for their understanding of the purposes, services, procedures and requirements of the program.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year certificate in Social Services or related field;
- One to two years’ experience and/or training in Social Services;
- Experience working with databases, Microsoft Office Word, and Outlook;
- Ability to deal with the public, excellent communications and organizational skills;
- Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential;
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory; Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver’s Abstract.
