About the Position: The successful candidate will assist and provide services in the Home and Community Care Program for LLRIB community members. You will be working in the homes of our clients, providing necessary home management, personal care & respite assistance.

Duties:

  • Apply a knowledge-based Home Health Aide practice independently and in collaboration with the client and other health care professionals to promote independent living of clients;
  • Must be able to provide home management, personal care and respite assistance to clients;
  • Use skills and interventions to meet physical, social/cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of the client;
  • Working 5 Days per week / 7.5 hours per day, Overtime maybe required;

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent; Home Health Aide or Continuing Care Aide certificate preferred; Combination of education and Experience may be considered;
  • Previous home care or acute care experience is an asset;
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the home care team;
  • Must be self-directed and demonstrate organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to speak or understand Cree is an asset;
  • First Aid/CPR Training certification is an asset and/or willing to learn;
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License;

A current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening and Driver’s Abstract is required upon hire. Since this position is engaged primarily in serving the interests of Aboriginal people, Lac La Ronge Indian Band shall give preference to Aboriginal people who possess the requisite skill sets and experience.
