Lac La Ronge Indian Band Public Works & Housing Department is now accepting applications for the following position:
OPEN COMPETITION
3x HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR – Definite Term Contract
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- To operate the following equipment:

- Front End Loader
- Skid Steer
- Excavator
- Grader
- Tandem & End Dump Trucks
- Operate Water & Sewer Truck
- To operate equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Maintain roads to ensure safe roadways in La Ronge, Sucker River and Hall Lake
- Use of equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage
- Demolition of buildings/houses as needed
- Perform general and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Fill out and maintain equipment log books
- Delivery of water and sewer pick up for on-reserve residents
- Dispose off sewer to appropriate location
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Class 1A license
- Must have 3 years’ experience with safely operating all equipment listed above
- Must have Grader and Excavator experience
- Must be self-directed and motivated
- Must be willing to take direction from supervisor
- Must be willing to work independently on various job sites
- Previous experience operating a water and/or sewer truck is an asset
- Possess a strong work ethic
- WHMIS & First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
