The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a compassionate person that has an understanding and appreciation for the Band’s Emergency Assistance Program to apply for the following full-time position:
Emergency Assistance Worker
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing Emergency Assistance to LLRIB Band members;
- Recommend improvements of Emergency Assistance policies and procedures;
- Providing counselling and support to Band members that are experiencing family difficulties due to emergency health-related challenges and/or dealing with a death in the family;
- Responsible for monitoring of the Adult Care Service Providers and clients in the Assisted Living Program in the Urban Centres;
- Liaising with other LLRIB departments and other agencies;
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports to the Director and Chief and Council;
- Maintain positive public relations on behalf of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band;
- Other duties include, but not limited to, conducting interviews with clients/applicants, home visits, issuing purchase orders and cheques, approving and denying requests (within policy), filing and maintaining proper records.
Requirements:
- Minimum Post-Secondary Diploma;
- Minimum 2 year’s experience in providing counselling for distressed individuals;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle;
- Ability to Speak Woodland Cree
