The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is inviting applications for the following Permanent Full-Time Position located at LLRIB Band Office in La Ronge, SK:
Cree Resource Technician
The Cree Resource Technician is responsible for providing assistance in sales of Cree resources to the community and other educational institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receiving/ filling orders for Cree Resource Unit (online, fax, walk-ins).
• Printing/ binding all resources including books, posters etc.
• Typesetting Cree resources for clients
• Prepare invoices for Cree Language Unit and file all invoices.
• Providing printing services for Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
• Stay informed on current Cree Language & Culture programs that are available and applicable for the LLRIB Schools and Students.
• Keep Cree Language Resource Catalogue updated;
• Operate a perfect binder for publishing books, pamphlets, information booklets;
• Photocopying/Faxing all CRU related documents.
• Sales and Marketing of Cree Resources.
• Ordering all office supplies, printer supplies, and marketing products
• Making spreadsheets for all CRU orders and keeping track of all inventory.
• Make and send out posters/registration forms, take all registrations for Cree Language Festival
• Contact schools/teachers for Cree Language Festival, prepare agenda, assist at the festival with registration, prizes, deliver and pick up prizes for festivals
• Attend and assist supervisor at teacher workshops
• Attend language conferences to sell and promote LLRIB CRU resources
• Managing the CRU apparel store, handling the debit machine and cash, ordering merchandise
• Recording of virtual meetings with Cree teachers and elders
• Provide quality service to customers and clients
• Any other work-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent is required
• Business Administration and/or Information Technology is a definite asset
• Minimum 2 years work experience in developing various Cree resources;
• Ability to speak and write Cree is a definite asset;
• Ideal candidate must be able to work with Standard Roman Orthography (SRO) and Syllabics;
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, and Perfect Binding photocopying an asset;
• Stay informed on all new computer programs, including InDesign;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to deal with public or LLRIB employees in respectable and prompt manner;
• MUST have valid class 5 driver’s License;
• MUST provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector check and Driver’s Abstract
