The Keethanow Group of Businesses Department is now accepting applications for the following Permanent Part-Time Position based out of La Ronge:
Baker
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Work with a positive, professional approach and attitude toward public & employees
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prepare, wrap, price and stock product as required and assigned
- Maintain and display all types of meat and/or bakery products according to standards
- Provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperatures and clean equipment regularly
- Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the Health & Safety Guides and Government legislation
- Advise the supervisor when orders for replenishment of inventory is required and to keep proper mark-down reports
- Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
- Bake mixed doughs and batters
- Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
- Ensure quality of products meets established standards
- Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
- Purchase baking supplies
- May oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods
- May hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (preferred)
- Must have WHIMIS/Food Safety Handling certificates
- Minimum of three months experience in retail
- Can follow detailed written or verbal instructions precisely
- Adhere to all Health and Safety dress-codes
- Mindful of food expiry policy
- Willing to participate in all necessary training programs
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Basic level of bakery knowledge is required
