Overview
The Social Development Branch delivers social assistance to eligible clients on Lac La Ronge Indian Band reserves.
The purpose of the social development program is to help those in need of financial assistance by ensuring basic living needs are met.
The social reform impacts the lives of community members; for example, with the Child Tax Benefit, more people have been able to manage their financial situations.
The department also assists recipients with education and training programs so they can eventually find employment and support themselves without social assistance.
Band Membership is under Social Development and is maintained by the Membership Officer.

## Band Membership
Band Membership is maintained under Social Development by the Membership Officer.
The Membership Officer records births, deaths, marriages, divorces, miscellaneous amendments, forced age of majority, and transfer requests in and out of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band to Indian Affairs for the Indian Registry.

Indian Status Cards are issued from this office to Band members and to other persons applying from other Bands across Canada.
The Membership Officer handles transfer requests in and out of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
The Membership Officer reports regularly to Chief and Council to update population statistics and reported events. Population statistics are completed yearly.
Social Development supports eligible social assistance clients and maintains Band Membership records through the Membership Officer.
The Membership Officer assists LLRIB members only in completing assorted forms and applications.
