## Restorative Justice Program
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band Restorative Justice Program provides mediation services delivered by Aboriginal people in La Ronge for youth and adults who come into conflict with the law.

Service areas include La Ronge, Hall Lake, Sucker River, Grandmother's Bay, and Pine House. Stanley Mission reserve is covered by the Stanley Mission Justice Unit.
## Community Justice Worker Role
The Community Justice Worker coordinates Alternative Measures, the La Ronge Community Justice Committee, and the Fine Option Program.
The role includes reporting to Crown prosecutors or police, organizing or facilitating mediation meetings, sentencing circles, healing circles, talking circles, and education workshops.

Coordinates the Fine Option Program.
Reports to Crown prosecutors or police regarding Alternative Measures.
Justice Unit services support restorative processes, court understanding, community justice work, and justice partnerships.
Organizes and provides or facilitates mediation meetings, sentencing circles, healing circles, talking circles, and education workshops.
Maintains documents and records of activities and submits reports to PAGC Justice, La Ronge Chief & Council, and the Community Justice Committee.
The court worker program assists accused people to better understand their rights, options, and responsibilities when appearing before the criminal courts.

Assist at first appearance, speak to adjournment, assist with plea, assist client to speak to sentence, explain sentencing responsibilities, and act as liaison with support staff.
Helps defendants and their families understand their rights, charges, consequences, and court procedures.
Helps clients deal with personal difficulties during court proceedings and obtain services from social workers, employment counsellors, or drug and alcohol counsellors.
Helps clients communicate with defence counsel and other officials.
Section 84 Correction Service Canada Protocol agreement for penitentiary inmates.
Community Reintegration Plan agreement for provincial correctional centres.
Works with the Crime Reduction Program Steering Inter-agency Committee.
Participates in the Crime Reduction Program Selection Committee.
Involved in case conferences with Corrections, Public Safety, and Policing.
