Nominations open for Election Appeals Committee
La Ronge (January 23, 2026, Friday): Lac La Ronge Indian Band is inviting nominations for the LLRIB Election Appeals Committee for the upcoming elections taking place in March 2026. Interested and eligible individuals can fill in the form (download here), self-attest/sign and mail/send to Gladys Christiansen, Executive Director at gchristiansen@llrib.ca on or before February 27, 2026 (Friday).
As per the LLRIB Election Act (Enacted on July 5, 2019 & Amended August 8, 2022), an Election Appeals Committee will be appointed by Council no later than two (2) Clear Days before the nomination meeting in the year of an Election, and shall be responsible for administering
appeals pursuant to the Act and the Election Regulations. Eligible individuals who are Members, and who meet the criteria listed below, may nominate themselves.
The Election Appeals Committee, as per the LLRIB Election Act, will comprise three appointees:
- One Member
- One Member or non-Member with a legal background or background in facilitating appeals
- One Member who is an Elder
Preference will be given to appoint nominees who have knowledge or experience relating to LLRIB membership, facilitating appeals, or Elections. Full eligibility requirements can be found at sections 6.12 and 6.13 of the Election Act.
