Lac La Ronge Indian Band Social Development Department is now inviting applications for the following full-time position based out of La Ronge, SK:

WELFARE INTAKE WORKER

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

• Responsible for the intake of social assistance clients and issuing of cheques and purchase orders to the band membership;
• Conduct interviews, home visits, filing, maintaining proper records;
• Interpret Social Development Policy and regulations to clients for their understanding of the purposes, services, procedures and requirements of the program.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• 1-year certificate in Social Services or related field
• Previous experience or training in Social Services;
• One to two years training in Social Services;
• Experience working with databases, Microsoft Office Word, and Outlook;
• Ability to deal with the public, excellent communications and organizational skills;
• Valid driver’s license is a must and access to a reliable vehicle are preferred;
• Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
• Ability to provide satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Local Police Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver’s Abstract.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential;
